It’s back again, the one time of year everyone is Irish regardless of your thoroughly German or Polish last name.  It’s a time to rejoice, be happy and drink until the sun comes up.   Many people in Green Bay have their Saint Patrick’s day traditions, places they congregate every year to discuss previous years outings and future ambitions.  So here is a list of some popular (and some unknown) outings you can visit.

Parties

St. Brendan’s Inn

It opens at 8 a.m. There’s a blessing of the shamrocks at 10 a.m., followed by the opening of the outdoor tent at 11 a.m. with the arrival of downtown’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade. There’s music by Greenmore at 11 a.m., Annex from 5 to 8 p.m. and The Liver Killers 9 p.m. to midnight. Wild Irish Gerry performs in the bar beginning at 9 p.m.

Lorelei Inn

When/where: 11 a.m.-close Saturday; 1412 Webster Ave., Allouez

The Lorelei is taking the party outside for the first time this year. A tent on the north side of the parking lot will host a beer trailer and a pair of bands: Bob Teed & The Satisfaction around 1 p.m. and The DOWGS from 4 to 8 p.m.

Badger State Brewing Co.

When/where: Noon-midnight Saturday; 990 Tony Canadeo Run, Green Bay

Smoked to the Bone food truck will be serving up its regular menu as well as a couple of classics from Ireland, including traditional corned beef made with a smoked flare, mashed potatoes and gravy and a bacon cabbage dish. Inside, there’s a special on pints of Dubious Ruffian Chocolate Stout and Green Chop Session IPA. The tapping of the brewery’s Dubious Ruffian Mint Oreo pin is set for 6 p.m.

Paddy O’s, Shenanigan’s & Molly McGee’s Irish Pub

If you don’t plan on going out Sunday night, Reilly will be performing at Paddy O’s in Ashwaubenon (2920 Ramada Way) on Saturday evening as well. Paddy O’s has both Irish and American food on the menu, and it’s a bit closer to a sports bar feel. I’ve heard good things about their Reuben sandwich.
